ContactPoint Update

According to a recent missive to the Worcestershire Home Education yahoo list, the dreadful ContactPoint database is due to go live in July. Given the shorter time-scale, it is slightly less easy to hope that this is mere bluster. Presumably the LA could predict with some accuracy whether or not the whole thing will be ready to go in just two months time.

Not that it will help much with real child protection problems, as far as we can tell. Too many social workers are already snowed under for them to be burdened with hundreds of other cases involving families who may well not need their services at all.

Blogdial summerises all this and other related matters very neatly here.
